Role: Solution Architecture Support Engineer

Contracting Authority: Greater Manchester Police

Contract Length: 29/12/2023

Location: Force HQ – as base. No set amount of office days. Will be as required on sites in Greater Manchester area. Go where needed when issues arise, rest would be remote.

IR35: In scope

Pay Rate: Up to £550

Essential experience/skills:


 

• Eligible for NPPV 3 vetting:
• Happy to work onsite as required
• Need a doer ‚Äì not someone theoretical/strategic
• Worked on domains/servers
• Possibly from looking after infrastructure in smaller organisations where needs broad scope of experience/skills
• A deeply technical person
• Systems focussed
• Flexible. Could be working longer hours one day, to get things fixed, then time back next day, for example.
• Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory structures, including DNS, Domain, Account Management, Group Policy
• Detailed experience and knowledge of the creation, deployment, and management of Microsoft Azure Resources.
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, basic query writing experience, server system management and backup
• Vendor Management and liaison with large and medium sized vendors in support of system and product troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Experience and knowledge of high availability systems, including storage, SD-WAN, load-balancing, data centre operations, patching and restore of services.
